Welcome to Signal Rock AG Insurance, I am Kevin McCarthy, my wife and I have a farm in Charlton, MA where we hay a 100 acres, maintain a flock of 50 Dorset/East Friesian crossed ewes, and direct market 100 lambs anuually. I became interested in the insurance business a few years ago after so many years questioning the insurance coverage for my own farm and actually reading all the fine print. I could not find a crop insurance product that provided risk protection on my farm. With the introduction of the Pasture Rangeland Forage policy (PRF) in the Fall of 2015 there was a crop insurance product that would work for me. With my background in civil engineering and information technology I conducted a rigorous analsysis of the PRF policies to maximize my farms' returns. I have done the same analysis for each of my customers and they have seen the value of this product. At this time I insure over 3000 acres in Massachusetts, Connecticut and Rhode Island.
